Paradise has sponsored, I think, two of the $1million freerolls.

Now that you mention it I think it was Paradise. Whats the catch? This sounds too good to be true. Has any posters ever played in one of these? How many people in the touney? Whats first prize?

I don't think there is a catch. You qualify by placing well in one of a series of freeroll MTTs (a series of which are happening today and tomorrow by coincidence...) over the next few months. Then you play in the big event in July. They fly the final 10 players to the Carribean to play the final table in person and the 1st place finisher gets $1million cash.

The "catch" is that it's a free roll to end all free rolls. Probably a 20 hr tourney. My guess is that you can get on the lucky streak of your life for 8 hours, be doing great, and probably still have several hundred if not a thousand people in fron of you. a free roll with that many people is just an inviation to waste your day away in front of the pc. post up $50 at a guaranteed money tourney and you'll reap the benefits of much tighter playing and a good chance to cash. good luck $

True about wasting a day, night, early morning. When I was still at the Univ of Pittsburgh. I remember playing pokerstars freerolls and thinking they were the best thing around. That is till I won one of them...then I was like where is mah money...had to play in a stupid omaha hi/lo tourney the next round...just stick to no-freeroll tournys...although freerolls are fun sometimes...its all luck till you get down to the final table.

Yea.. I get annoyed when I play in ANY tourney with more than 300- 400 people these days. My regular friday night game has a guy in it who likes to talk about winning an online free roll with over 1200 people. he always laughs at the end of his story though... the kicker is... he only won 200 bucks but he had spent 12+ hours of his weekend. huge free rolls are a waste of time and effort... and most likely teach bad technique

I played in one of those prequalifier free rolls over the holidays. 5500 or so people. 5+ hours later I finished 4 spots out of the final event. ughhhhhhhh.
